The accelerating building growth at Fitzsimons is unambiguous, even from a distance, thanks to the numerous towering cranes stretching high into the beautiful Colorado sky. Fitzsimons though is more than the CU Health Science Center and variety of hospitals (including the University of Colorado Hospital, the Anschutz Cancer Pavilion, the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute and the Children’s Hospital, just to name a few) it also includes the biotech hub of the West, the Colorado Bioscience Park, where commercialization of Colorado technologies is well underway. The second building, Bioscience East, is a beautifully renovated 25,000 square foot 1923 former optical fabrication laboratory for the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and it is now opened for business. The first occupants DMI BioSciences, Inc. and the WELLS Center were warmly welcomed and happily settling in.
